VILLAGE
Request Information
The Village at Revelstoke Mountain Resort is on its way to being the new height of refined adventure. There was considerable development foresight put into creating the Village so it is cohesive, contemporary and very distinguishable from rectangular build out designs at most other ski resorts. RMR is the world's only alpine resort where lift, snowcat and helicopter skiing are accessible directly from the Village base. Selkirk Tangiers Helicopter Skiing, now an integral part of RMR, provides access to 500,000 acres of fresh powder terrain via helicopter. Furthermore, Revelstoke Cat Skiing, also owned by the resort, adds an additional 5,000 acres of skiable terrain through the North, South, Montana and Kokanee Bowls.
Unprecedented mountain access is just a part of the story unfolding here. World-class four-season sports of every description - mountain biking, fly-fishing, hiking, climbing and golf - are just outside your door. Specialty boutiques, exquisite cuisine and casual cafes abound to refresh the adventure. The picturesque walkways of the pedestrian-only village wind through colorful plazas, thrumming with life, and always surounded by the spectacular alpine landscape of this recreational paradise.
With the village concept focusing on contemporary designs RMR has a unique opportunity to capitalize on all of the natural assets of Canadian resorts while differentiating itself by offering the luxury amenities travelers currently find lacking in Canada. While Canada receives high ratings from foreign alpine ski tourists for scenery, relaxation, safety and family appeal, visitors consistently give Canada low marks as a place to experience the "good life" and as a destination with a popular or trendy image. Revelstoke, with its high-end retail, luxury condominiums and ski houses, and best-in-class heli-skiing operations, offers vacationers a luxury ski experience.
"The RMR Master Plan envisions a recreation-based, full-service, year-round resort community located on the slopes of Mt. Mackenzie. The Master Plan envisions a level of quality and service that establishes RMR as a premier destination catering to regional, North American and international visitors. The resort will be organized into neighborhood areas that are defined by location, topography and recreational activities. These neighborhoods will include a variety of residential accommodations and will be connected to one another by a central resort parkway and a secondary system of connecting streets. Recreational trails will connect neighborhood residential areas to the Resort as well as to the City of Revelstoke's existing trail network. Commercial activities within the Resort will be concentrated in the Village area and will include pedestrian-only streets and plazas with a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
Village parking will be provided in several surface lots intended to serve recreational day users and commercial shoppers. Additional services and amenities within the Resort will include conference and meeting facilities, health and fitness facilities, spas, theater and performance space. All of the recreational facilities within the Resort will be available for use by local residents as well as Resort guests.
A total of 5,000 homes are proposed for the Resort at build-out. These units will include a variety of residential choices, including single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and hotel rooms. Many of the units will be available for overnight accommodations. Other units will be marketed for sale to individual owners.
