Secret Stashes

Most guests that visit Revelstoke Mountain Resort complain that there is too much snow, the lines are too short, the people are too friendly and that the runs are too long so we thought we should give you one more reason to come visit our Mountain by offering you the following favorite locals spots on the hill.
Karilyn Kempton is the Social Media Marketing Coordinator for Revelstoke Mountain Resort and she gets to ski every day. We encourage you to check out her blog at http://skirevelstoke.wordpress.com/. Below are two of her favorite locals spots on the hill!
Hollywood Gully
After the first pitch of Snow Rodeo, cut hard to the right and down into Hollywood Gully. It's not on the trail map, but it's easy to find, and you feel like you're a million miles away from anyone. The snow often blows from the SW across Snow Rodeo and down into the Gully, so it's a great early-morning bet for deep, awesome snow! Follow the fall line and ski through widely-spaced trees. Remember, if you're skiing trees make sure to ski with a buddy.
Follow the wind!
This one isn't so much a secret stash as it is a friendly pointer. Keep tabs on the wind speed and direction overnight, and then use that to judge where to go for fresh tracks. Even if we don't receive a lot of snow overnight, a strong south westerly wind could mean that snow will be deposited from the south into North and Greely Bowls, over the peak ridge line. Earlier in December, an arctic subflow from the North meant that the South aspects were where it was at. Keep the wind at your back and you may be skiing through knee-deep wind-drifts on a 4 cm day.
If you think over 3,000 acres of terrain and the highest vertical in North America seems a little overwhelming, give one of our Real Estate Specialists a call at 888.837.2188 and they would be more than happy to take you skiing and show you all the real estate offerings available at Revelstoke Mountain Resort!
